Roland Juno 106

The Classic roland synth with the self destructing filters

In the picture: a juno 106 prepares to have its filters changed.

The roland juno 106 has its filters on custom SIP modules covered in a black coating to protect them, unfortunately with time this coating becomes conductive and the filters start to go bad. Traditionally the juno 106 has modules have been repaired by using chemicals to remove the coating. This method is not effective in all cases though.

Luckily Analog Renaissance have made new filter modules that sound exactly the same as the originals . http://www.analoguerenaissance.com/AR80017A/ Changing the filter modules is a bit of a delicate job, because they are soldered into the main PCB. Proper equipment and technique are required to avoid damaging the modules and the pcb.
